-Check Tire Pressure on a Regular basis:

Tire pressure is something you should check every time you have any suspect on them, or at least 4 times a year. There are a couple of symptoms that you can notice easily, such as squealing noise when you turn around the corner, If they are under-inflated tires. In case of over-inflated tires, it will generate reduced traction. Reference your vehicle’s owner’s manual to see what the recommended tire pressure should be, as sometimes the weather outside might affect the tire pressure without your notice. Keep the pressure at that suggested level is very important. If you inflate them too much, they will wear quickly and it might cause a problem when you stop, and tread separation which is more dangerous situation.

-Have Your Tires Rotated:

Another thing you would want to do is to have your tires rotated at every 5,000 – 6,000 miles. They do not wear at the same phase and level, and depending on the driver front tires could be wearing faster than rear ones. By doing so, you will extend your tire’s life cycle and make a smooth driving at the end. Some car manufacturers recommend a cross-rotation method where you switch the right-front tire to the left-rear one and so on. -Wheel Alignment Check:

Your wheels could be thrown out of alignment if you have ever hit a pothole or scraped tires on a curb. You can easily locate the symptoms of this out of alignment wheels by checking if one tire has excessive wear then the rest. Also when you drive straight, you can feel it is not going the right direction as you intended. This kind of alignment check should be done at least once a year.

-Wheel Balance when they’re rotated:

If the wheel is not balanced well, it can cause a vibration when you drive at higher speed, usually 60 – 80 MPH on the highway. Even in the rear seat they can feel the vibration and at the same time it might cause wearing of shock absorbers and suspensions. If you suspect any of these symptoms, then you might want to have mechanic check your tires immediately. They are professional and should be able to adjust the balance by attaching a lead weight.

Choose Tires For Car Based on Road Condition

Believe it or not, 20 percent of your car’s engine performance is determined by the tires type. First, observe the construction of the tires. Tires which have hard tread can reduce the deformation or change in shape (not perfectly round), so with a perfect shape, tires will rotate more smoothly.

Second is, observe how flat a tire can hold the pressure of the air-filling inside. The more evenly the pressure, the lower the rolling resistance, this is happen because the friction on the tires’ rubber is evenly spread.

The Last thing you must pay attention to is the grooves on the tire tread. Choose a tire tread groove base on the road condition. Wet and dry road has a different specification. More groove is better for a wet road conditions and vice versa, the fewer the grooves on the tire the better the tire is used in a dry road condition. Tire groove is useful for directing the wind and water, so at high speeds or while passing through a pool of water, wind and water is directed well and not hinder the tire aerodynamic rotation. If the groove is too dense, the tire rotation will became onerous and this is not good for a dry track. Vice versa, if the groove is too tenuous, it’s good for dry track, but it will be slippery on a wet track.
